Garlicky Honey Dijon Salmon

Another fave and healthy dish that our family loves is this sweet and savoury salmon dish, super easy to make, I typically will marinate a larger salmon piece so it can be saved as left overs for a couple of days. Making the marinade from scratch is a much healthier option rather than using a sauce that is in a bottle sitting on a shelf which is likely full of preservatives, sugars and sodium and other potentially harmful compounds.

Here is the recipe, can double it for larger portions:

  • 4 Salmon fillets, try to opt for wild salmon
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoon low sodium gluten free soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Dijon Mustard
  • 2-3 Cloves minced Garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare a lined baking sheet and place the salmon on top and preheat oven at 400 degree F
  2. Whisk all ingredients in a bowl and brush on half the marinade on to the salmon
  3. Can put additional veggies beside the salmon with olive oil and salt and pepper, I typically opt for any type of green veg as a side (broccoli, asparagus, kale, etc. optional)
  4. Bake for 12 minutes then brush remaining sauce on and bake for another 6-8 minutes or until cooked to your preferences (can use thermometer, 145 degree F for fully cooked salmon)

Hope you enjoy this one, let me know how you like it!
